For example, how much care do you take with your hands?

We once knew a man who was a brilliant “doer” – he loved to develop new things and work on new ideas. However, he never saw any of them to fruition. Each activity remained unfinished.

Interestingly, as a young man, he was training to be a carpenter and in a momentary lapse of attention he cut off the top of his right thumb. Now, the thumbs (as you will remember) are our “manifestation” indicators – how we get things done in the world. This man’s right thumb was how he manifested in the outer world. He was almost a genius, but very tormented, and actually ended up by losing the top half of his right thumb.

This is an extreme example, but be aware how you take care of your hands, as that may be an indication of the inner chatter going on in your mind, and potentially holding you back!

Even when a finger gets cut off, the energy of that finger still remains.  Therefore, had that young man applied himself, he still would have been able to “build up” his DOER qualities and get things done.

A person may be born a genius, but then he or she still has to put in informed, well-directed action to make things happen.

Hand Analysis: School of Service

The School of Service in Hand Analysis is what the name suggests – Service. It’s not about servitude, or being a slave to others, it’s about being the Master of Service – being able to be “of service” to others.

We can be of the best to others when we first serve ourselves. Think about it – if you have an intense desire to help starving children in Africa, you are of absolutely no use to them if you are starving yourself.

This isn’t to say that you put yourself first at all costs. It’s about finding that balance between selfishness and servitude.

Not all of us have a desire to really be of service to others, and that’s OK. It may not be your School. The world needs variety and contrast, otherwise we’d never get anywhere!

As Richard Unger says in his book Life Prints, “True service comes from the desire to help others, not control them. It empowers both the giver and receiver. It feels good regardless of the outcome. The activity itself is reward enough”.

The School of Service is the highest on the hierarchical ladder.

Hand Analysis Schools

There are 4 fundamental “schools” in Scientific Hand Analysis. By “school” it means the overall way in which you operate in life. It infiltrates every aspect of your life.

It’s where you encounter great success and joy, but also where you face your challenges.

We all have elements of each of the 4 schools, but there will be one (or possibly) two of the schools that really resonate with you.

The ‘hierarchy’ (I use that term loosely) goes:

1. School of Service

2. School of Love

3. School of Wisdom

4. School of Peace

There is no one school that is ‘better’ than the others, and we begin in the School of Peace and move to Wisdom, then to Love, and then finally to Service.

Each school has its own set of triumphs and challenges, and once you are aware of which school(s) you’re in, it will make so many things make sense.

In following articles on hand analysis, I’ll go through each of the Schools so you can see what they each mean and how they may relate to you.

Communication in Hand Analysis

In scientific hand analysis, the hand analyst looks to the little fingers to check out  your ability to communicate and whether you are communicating what you want.

Communication is one of the most vital elements to experiencing peace, success and happiness. Think about it – disagreements with your partner invariably are caused by a breakdown in communication. Someone thought they said something but didn’t, or they did, and the other person didn’t hear them correctly, or at all. The after effects of miscommunication can sometimes feel like an earthquake aftershock!

Once more, the pattern of the 3 zones of your little finger follows the familiar pattern of:

1. Physical communication

2. Mental communication

3. Abstract communication

Physical communication takes on shapes such as body language and sex, both of which are vitally important. Someone can say all the right words, but if their body language doesn’t match what they are saying, the message will be completely lost. Sex can be seen as communicating an attraction for the other person, or it could purely be seen as a physical act that has no meaning whatsoever. Either way, underlying communication is occurring.

How is your physical communication (in all its forms)? Are you getting your message across?

Mental communication is how you mentally prepare yourself before communicating, and the mental state that you’re in while you’re communicating. For professional negotiators and politicians, mental communication is what either makes, or breaks them. For athletes, how they talk to themselves mentally will mean the difference between winning and losing, no matter how well they have physically prepared.

People are complex, and this is due primarily to the mental language that we use. Try and think a beautiful, peaceful thought and then do something nasty. It doesn’t work, because our actions follow the directions of our mind.

Abstract communication relates to ideas, concepts and vision. It can be argued that in the abstract is where communication originates. Before you can take action, you need to be thinking about something, and before you can think about something, that ‘something’ is an idea that needs to be developed.

As with all the other fingers that have been discussed in hand analysis previous postings, being able to consciously master how you communicate on all 3 levels is incredibly useful, and will result in successful achievement of outcomes every time!

Hand Analysis Good-sized Middle Finger

This is your middle finger. Look at your hand with fingers spread. Which finger stands the straightest coming out of the centre of your palm? The middle finger.

It will come as no surprise then that this “backbone” of your hand correlates to Values and Integrity. I like to think of it as the “rod” that keeps everything in balance. If the rod is not solid, it’s likely you’ll experience a bit of back and forth, which can manifest itself as indecisiveness, for example.

Now, as previously mentioned in other posts, there are 3 aspects to each finger:

1. Physical

2. Mental

3. Spiritual

When you think about it, this pretty much makes up any way you can look at something in life. Specific to the middle finger, these 3 aspects link to the regions on your finger.

The lower region is the physical realm, which in this case is your “Core Values”. Because, how you physically exist in this world is directly linked to your Values. Just think – when you get paid, you have a finite amount of money. How you then spend, or allocate that money is based on what you value. Do you value saving and growing your wealth? Or, do you value having the latest gadget, and spending your money on technology?

The middle region is the mental realm, which in this case affects your “Time, Energy, and Money”. You may think these should sit in the physical realm, but if you dial it back, how you see time, energy and money, and how you spend your time, energy, and money, falls back into how you think about each of these, specific to your values. We’re not looking at the obvious output, we’re looking for the root cause – which starts with your mind.

Finally, the upper region of your middle finger is a bit more abstract. It relates to “Ideas and Systems”. That is, what you value, at a spiritual level, and how this transmutes into the ideas that you have, and the systems that you use to implement these ideas.

Wouldn’t it be great to understand how you operate within the boundaries of your Values?

Wouldn’t that be incredibly value-able??

Well, knowledge is power, as they say…

Creativity in Hand Analysis

A hand analyst can help you discover all aspects of your personality by reading your finger tips, your fingers and your palm. Here we look at the Creativity Finger, the Ring Finger. What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word ‘creativity’? Da Vinci, or Gaudi, or Michael Jackson? It’s common to link the concept of being artistic, with being creative.

Creativity, in its simplest form is ‘to create’. Making something exist where it didn’t exist before or change, as a result of your uniqueness, the way that something has always been done. This has nothing to do with art or architecture, or anything specific. It’s purely bringing something new into existence.

Yes, I’m belabouring that point because it’s important that you understand the true meaning. On this basis, EVERYONE is creative, including YOU!

NO EXCEPTIONS.

In Hand Analysis, the finger that represents creativity is the ring finger. And again, on the basis of the 3 zones on your ring finger, they correlate to:

1. Physical creativity

2. Mental creativity

3. Abstract creativity

Now, the meanings of each of these are pretty straightforward. When you think of physical creativity, it’s how we ‘display’ our creativity – the things we do and how we do them. This doesn’t necessarily mean creating a physical ‘thing’, it’s more in how we show our creativity to the outside world. Some people like to openly be creative and find new and different ways to do things, while other people want to keep to the status quo. These are two variations of creativity on different ends of the scale.

In terms of mental creativity, it’s how we mentally apply our ability to create. You can say it’s where the creative process starts – as an idea in someone’s head. It also relates to the creation of functional art – designing something that can be used by others. For instance, Alexander Graham Bell is attributed to creating/inventing the telephone. It’s a functional result which had to start in his mind.

Lastly is abstract creativity, which you could argue is really where creativity originates. It’s similar to the life cycle of an embryo, where firstly an egg is fertilised. Prior to this event the embryo is just an abstract concept. Creation commences from this point.

This may be getting a little cerebral, but the point is, we all have the capacity to create, commencing with the abstract concept, which then must be transformed into a conscious mental thought, before finally action is taken to transform the idea into a physical creation.

Imagine if you could understand your personal creative process. You would have so much more power over it, and be able to successfully create anything you wanted over and over again!

This is where having your hands analysed will give you the key to your creativity.

The Power Finger

As you’ve already discovered, in hand analysis,  each of the fingers has a different story to tell about who you are and how your life is going.  More importantly in a way, what you had decided what your Life Purpose was going to be. hink about what finger you use to point at something, or hold up to make a point, or use to press the elevator button, or use to select an item from a shop window… Which finger is it?

For most of us, it’s the index finger. So, it will come as no surprise then to find out that, in Hand Analysis, the finger that represents your power is your index finger. It’s also known as the Jupiter finger, which also aligns nicely, as Jupiter is the leader of the Gods in Roman mythology.

I just briefly want to explain what I mean by ‘power’. I’m not talking about ego-ruling, blind, fury type of power. True power is on the inside, and becomes a beacon of light that drives passion and results for the betterment of humankind.

Take a look at your index finger and see if you have 3 ‘sections’. Some people have 2 or 4, but that is pretty uncommon. These 3 sections fundamentally relate to your physical power, mental power, and spiritual power – corresponding to the bottom third (which is directly connected to the palm of your hand), the middle third, and the upper third.

The index finger can either be your Purpose, or your Lesson, meaning that it can be what your meant to focus on in this life (i.e. being powerful), or it could be your greatest obstacle to overcome (i.e. being powerless).

This goes down another level when you consider the 3 sections of your index finger. Where, on your finger print chart your top third is very faint, and you didn’t actually print the entire top area, then your spiritual power is in need of work. That is, you need to reconnect to the source of the Universe (whether you call this God, or the Divine, or Spirit, is up to you).

You can also see how long your index finger is, relative to your other fingers. Where you have a long index finger, relative to the length of your other fingers, then power forms an important part of your world. Where it is relatively shorter, then being powerful is something you have to work harder at.

Are you starting to see how this is all coming together? If not, don’t worry, we’ll continue discussing the sections of the fingers in future postings, and you may start to then see a pattern of logic emerging.

For example, your thumb represents your ability to manifest and get results. So, if you have a very flexible thumb (wiggle it around and see if you do), then you are a very flexible person in how you achieve results. The opposite is also true.

In this posting I’m going to briefly touch on the sections of each of your fingers. Look at the palms of your hands. Most of you will notice (there are some people to whom this doesn’t apply) that each of your fingers have 3 ‘sections’. If you can’t see this clearly, slightly bend your fingers, and you’ll see the sections more clearly.

For each section, the sequence runs as follows:

• Bottom section (closest to your palm) = physical realm

• Middle section = mental realm

• Upper section = spiritual realm

If you consider your palm as the ‘epicentre’, or the ‘solar plexus’, if you will, then the rest of this posting will make perfect sense.

When we analyse hand prints, one of the areas we look at is how each finger has printed on the page. Some of the thirds will be more complete and have more ink than others – this means something.

For example, if the bottom section is missing some ink on the page, then this person is missing a key area in their physical lives related to what that finger means (the next posting will talk about the index finger in more detail). The opposite would also be true – where that section of the finger print has a solid amount of ink, and there is no part of it missing, then the person is more complete in this area of their lives.

So, you see how, once you understand the basics, you can then apply the meaning to what you see. There is also an element of intuitive guidance that goes with the analysis also, however, which can never be underestimated.

The Thumb in Hand Analysis

Did that grab your attention? It’s okay.  You can do that when you do a hand analysis reading.

I’ll back up the story a little bit before I explain the title. If you’ve been following the previous postings on this blog, you will have seen that we have been talking about what valuable information it’s possible to see in your thumbs.

Once you learn this skill, you can’t but help look at the thumbs of everyone you come into contact with. So, the question is, when is it appropriate to grab a stranger’s thumb to find out how they manifest in the world?

I can tell you, this is very revealing stuff, and people are fascinated (for the most part), which makes it difficult not to be able to help people better understand themselves. Of course, there is a HUGE caveat there – people have to want to understand themselves better.

This isn’t “self-help” stuff. It’s scientific analysis of the lines in your hand. The thumbs especially are how we manifest in the world. How we create. When you think about it, we all create in one way or another. Wouldn’t it be valuable to really understand ‘how’ you create, rather than just doing it accidentally?

You could then control the process, and actually dial up your creative ability, and create on a larger, more successful scale. This is the power of hand analysis, and the knowledge it gives you. As the saying goes, “knowledge is power”. So once you have this knowledge, it’s up to you to do something with it, as that is where the power truly is generated from.

Back to my question then – if you had this “power” to help people understand how they manifest and create in this world, the least you can do is offer them the option of finding out. My suggestion then is to not ‘grab’ their thumb, but to offer the option of finding out, and then let them offer their thumb to you to read.

Information is one thing, but ‘desired information’ is quite another. communication. It will either enable you to manifest that is, bring about what you want in life and achieve the results you want, or are getting results you don’t want.

Suffice to say, your outer world is the direct result of what you have thought in your mind, your inner world. I know that for some of you this is going to cause some resistance but, you must trust me on this until I explain what this means later on.

2. A logical follow on from inner communication is our outer communication. Some people think a certain way, but, because they know that it wouldn’t be accepted; they tailor their outer communication to fit in with the ‘norm’. This will inevitably cause conflict in that person and they will slip up eventually.

Mostly, what people think is reflected in their outer communication and, again, this is critical as to how their life will pan out. If their outer communication focuses on what they don’t want, they will bring more of what they don’t want into their world.

If however, their outer communication concentrates on what they want, then, they will attract that into their world. It’s as simple as that.

3. The Little Fingers indicate how your listening skills are evolved. Are you a good listener or do think that what you have to say is more important than that of another person.

Believe me it’s not. We are blessed with two ears and one mouth that should give us some idea of which is more significant. We learn a lot more from listening than we do from talking, wouldn’t you say?

4. In the previous posting, when we looked at what the Ring Fingers told us, we spoke of how our self-worth shows up, well with the Little Fingers, it’s how we communicate about our self-concept or lack thereof.

Do you see how each of the fingers tie in with each other’s characteristics. We are, of course, a whole being, so that’s logical

5. An obvious form of communication is our skill in negotiating whether it be in business or in our private life. In actual fact, we negotiate for things multiple times a day.

As far as business is concerned, we can even include such activities as brainstorming and strategising.

6. To communicate effectively, it’s necessary to have an alert mind, to be sharp. The Little Fingers indicate to what level of development this quality is within the person

7. And last but NOT least, I’ll mention inspiration. Without inspiration there are no great ideas and no great results. The level that a person uses inspiration in their life is shown in their Little Fingers.

So, there we have it, an overview of the five groups of fingers that we have on our hands:

1. The thumbs

2. The index fingers

3. The middle fingers

4. The ring fingers

5. The little fingers
